The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, also known as UNHCR), was formed in 1950 as an United Nations agency that would protect and support refugees and displaced people globally. UNHCR works to ensure the right to seek asylum, humanitarian assistance such as shelter, education, and healthcare, and long-term resettlement solutions for refugees. The committee mostly addresses issues related to forced displacement caused by conflicts, persecution, or natural disasters. It's main aim is upholding human dignity and promoting the international cooperation needed when responding to cases of refugee crises.

The Future Crisis Committee, or FCC, is an alternative committee in Model United Nations that focuses on potential global crises. Rather than focusing on current issues, the FCC's goal is to simulate alternative future scenarios.
With its fast-paced style, it forces delegates to think strategically and respond quickly to constantly evolving situations. This committee emphasizes crisis management, creative problem-solving and encouraging participants to foresee the consequences of whatever actions they may take. The topics vary from eachother, as this committee includes crises ranging from political to social. It is up to the delegates to find innovative solutions, and restore the order of peace.

The Special Committee is an alternative committee in Model United Nations that simulates a specific period or event in the past. Delegates represent key figures or states relevant to the chosen timeline and must act according to the political, social, and technological conditions of that era.
The committee itself revolves around fast paced decision-making, diplomacy, and crisis management within the specified historical constraints. It encourages the delegates to have a vast understanding of the causes and consequences of historical events while exploring the alternative outcomes that result from debate and negotiation.
